An excellent gig by the Muse tribute band Hypermused earlier tonight. In fact it was probably the best of the 4 gigs I've seen by them. smiley Whilst I still think that it's scandalous that they are reduced to being a support band, they were at least allowed to play a longer set this time:

Dead Star
Uprising
Darkshines
Muscle Museum
Cave
Feeling Good
Sunburn
Time Is Running Out
Starlight
Showbiz
Hysteria
Stockholm Syndrome
New Born
Plug In Baby
Knights Of Cydonia

It was particularly great to hear 4 songs from Showbiz - in fact my favourite 4 songs from that album - as the real band largely neglect that album now.

A good gig by Mike and his Mechanics last night. They played a couple of Roachford songs and the same 2 Genesis songs as they played on "The Road" tour in 2011. Surprisingly though, they didn't have a merch desk.

I had an email earlier saying next weeks The Dear Hunter concert has been cancelled due to ill health. I hope the fella gets well soon and they reschedule later in the year

That's three reasons I feel massively let down by Mike & the Mechanics.... 1) They did not release their last two albums in the US, 2) they have not been to the US since the '80s--even though The Living Years was huge here and arguably catapulted the band to great success, and 3) they played "I Can't Dance" at a show.

I would've preferred them to play another couple of Mechanics songs(Beautiful Day and Ordinary Girl) or something from Smallcreep's Day

Received another email about The Dear Hunter gig and it's now being rescheduled for later in the year :0)

Hi there

Got a few weeks gig free (just as well with the workload for TWR being so much at the mo). Next gig Clannad/Mary Black at the Philharmonic Hall on 19th March - can't wait. Clannad were amazing last year!

My brother is going to see Genesis trib band The Musical Box perform Thursday evening in Portland, Oregon.

They are known by all members of Genesis and even asked Phil to come play drums with them for a bit.

Check it out!
