yesterday Sigur Ros at the sold out Amsterdam Heineken Music Hall, For A Minor Reflection Opening (Icelandic too, 4 boys all 19 yrs old who hitherto had only played in pubs for 15-20 people and were now up against 5.500 - they did a good show, very much in the Explosions In The Sky-vein)

They played and excellent set with superb sound! Beautiful light effects too. This tour is the first in some time without the Amiina strings but they are not missed. A wonderful gig, even if the SR audience seemed a bit subdued.

setlist of this memorable evening was a great mix of old favourtites and new material

Svefn g englar
Ný batterí
Fljótavik
Við spilum endalaust
Hoppípolla
Með blóðnasir
Inní mér syngur vitleysingur
E-bow
Sæglópur
Festival (with confetti)
Hafsól
Gobbledigook (with BIG confetti and FAMR on drums)
--
All alright
Popplagið (with HUGE white snowstorm-like confetti at the climax)

Hey Mal! I saw Hells Bells at the Roadhouse last Saturday. I've seen them twice before too. They're excellent! The bass player only looks about 15 and the lead guitarist isn't that much older but he can't half play! If you like AC/DC you'll like these guys. They're on stage for quite a while too. They do rock covers first, some of which sound a bit odd as the lead singer sings them all in a Brian Johnson voice! Well worth seeing though!
