Might go see The Watch tomorrow as they play a few miles down the road here.

05Ric & Gavin Harrison in Amsterdam in December.

For next year, got my tickets for the Pat Metheny Unity Group (Utrecht) and Chick Corea solo piano concert (Eindhoven).
Hopefully Steven Wilson will do something too (besides Blackfield shows, which I don't like to be honest).

Tedeschi Trucks Band

Nice! I've seen them both but not in this current setup. Derrick Trucks is amazing, and I'm going to have to try and catch one of their shows together.

Enjoy the show! ( I know you will, especially at that venue) cool

Thanks Eric! I think I mentioned to you that I got a chance to meet Susan a few years ago. She's a super nice person.

Bonus is, I have a fourth row center seat for this one . cool

Oh, I forgot to mention, I just went to see Bruce Hornsby at Koerner Hall in Toronto. I had never seen him live before.

It was a great performance. It was just him, solo on a piano. He is a very spontaneous performer, who improvises wildly and will veer off in unexpected directions as his muse take him. Although he played many of his better known songs, they were usually rearranged, often radically. The Valley Road had a rolling, bluesy feel. Mandolin Rain was in a minor key and had a completely different melody.

Solos during songs included jarring 12-tone sequences, excerpts from a variety of modern composers, even a bit of Glenn Gould's rendition of Bach. He took requests, sometimes playing songs he had never played before solo on piano.

It was all fresh and completely unexpected. It was not the concert for people who wanted to hear faithful versions of the old hits. But it was great for people with very wide tastes in music and willing to go on an adventure with a talented artist.

Aw crap. I was thinking of going to this. tongue

Great to hear you enjoyed it Dr. J. cool

OK, I'm back... what a bizarre setlist. I'll post it in a sec, I just have to remember everything that was played, because I stupidly forgot to bring a notebook to write down the tracks like last time. embarassed
