What a wonderful concert it was. cool

Great venue, fabulous band. The 2 news songs are fantastic and the show great. His voice was lovely too. I really enjoyed it (despite the very expensive sangrķa we had earlier!!)

I highly recommend to go and see him. cool

Yes, thank you. I have been reading about the concert reviews and there is someone who has been following SW around Europe in this and previous tours and he commented yesterday that the Madrid gig was absolutely brilliant even much better than the Albert Hall one. He said that the venue (an auditorium) was so good that the sound was perfect, the visibility, the audience and everything as well. So I am very happy to say it is one of the concerts that I have enjoyed more ever.

Tribute bands are value for money, you don't need binoculars to see the musicians and you can persuade people who aren't necessarily big fans of the band being tributed to go along. smiley wink

Just had a quick look at their website but there don't appear to be any convenient gigs for me. For now, I'm happy to stick with the rather splendid Absolute Bowie. smiley

It sounds OK to me. After all, the positive version would be "there do appear..." Are you saying I should've said "there doesn't appear..."? If so, I can only apologise. embarassed grin

Yes, I thought it should be "doesn't" wink Only pullin' yer leg, Nige! grin

Shouldn't the positive be "there does appear"?

I think you are correct, as the object noun of the statement is the plural "gigs." One would say "The gigs do not appear to be convenient for me," and not "The gigs does not appear to be convenient for me." If it were a singular "gig", then I think does would be correct.

But what does I know?
