There we go - a new page. The last one got a bit long. tongue

Possibly going to see A Kind Of Queen again at The Orchard Theatre soon. One of the best gigs I'd ever been to (the best was Brit Floyd) and so it'll be very nice to see them again.

I assume that you never got Muse tickets for Coventry or London.

No, unfortunately not. But I'm seeing The Moody Blues at the London 02 Arena in June which is going to be just as good. smiley

An anagram of "The Moody Blues" is "Behold Muse Toy"! grin

My brother went to see Brit Floyd last night in Oregon. He said they were fantastic! Played 5 whole sides of various albums, including Animals, The Wall, Division Bell, etc. Great stuff! smiley

I saw Steve last night. It was amazing!
One of the best and most epic concerts I've ever seen in my entire life smiley
Hope he will return to Oslo again soon!

Went to see my son perform with his band Manran last Sunday (full house and sophomore album launch) and the whole event was spoiled by those inconsiderate a**holes near the bar who decided to talk/shout/laugh all the way through the whole gig. I could not get away as it was packed and had to listen to neanderthals (both sexes) completely disrespecting the band and deciding to create a cacophony of noise. Allied to this was the drunks who sat behind me at the Steve Hackett gig earlier that week and shouted, swore and slagged off Anne Marie Helder in her support slot and Gary when singing Blood on the Rooftops while accidentally hitting my wife on the head with a rolled up poster several times.

In essence last Sunday was the straw that broke the Camel's back for me and my last ever gig. I now refuse to pay to go along while others treat the event like a pub and who can shout loudest. Rather than get myself upset to the point where it ruins everything, I will simply accept I am no longer up for this (grumpy old sod) and use my money to bring the audio and video to my home instead. Totally cheesed off with the attitude of those who pay money to go to a gig, get pissed and spoil everything for those around them - no respect at all. There is no doubt that alcohol is the root and it is unfortunate that these venues rely on selling expensive drink to make a profit while many of those who drink simply do not know when enough is enough and spend their time staggering to and from the bar and spilling their drinks all over me and others while becoming abusive if you ask them to quieten down.

I know I have said this before but this time I am hanging up my gig boots and save my blood pressure.

Rant over and apologies for this and thanks to anyone of you who understand where I am coming from.

Sorry to hear your bad experience Dave sad . I'm assuming with that vast experience of yours during gigs that people and society have changed a lot. Totally agree with you though, despite the atmosphere attending these gigs people in general forget others interests which is sad. sad

I have only had one bad experience attending a gig and that was in Germany seeing Queen in concert 1985. Trying to spend hours squeezing yourself in, plus trying to see the band when everyone to me seemed like 7 ft tall was something I will never forget. Claustrophobia was something if you have never experienced it you would after this event. I managed to fight my way through the crowd to an area where I could sample air rather then someones sweaty armpits or BO. To top this off I found Queen not as impressive live as their albums. sad

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Whooptydangdo. wink

Enjoy the show my friend. I don't know if you've been checking out some of the recent setlists, but man the sets look great. I'm not going to put any spoilers out there in case you don't want to know, but I will say that Mick Taylor has been playing on more than just the one tune this leg, and hopefully that keeps happening for the rest of the tour. cool

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the show, and how it ranks with the Newark December shows. Have a great time! I know you will. grin

Thanks Eric! grin

I've been peaking at the various set lists so far. Looks like its going to be a great show no matter what they play. I'm looking forward more to any "special guests" that may turn up. Here's fingers crossed for Celine Dion... User Image
