The TFK/Neal Morse gig was amazing! They played for almost 4 hours! The only glitch was when Mike Portnoy's bass drum head broke......twice! While they fixed his drum kit, Neal improvised on the keyboard performing Father Of Forgiveness and then Solid As The Sun. The last 2 photos show Mike with one of the broken drum heads around his neck. He signed it and gave it to a fan. Great stuff!

This was my virgin TFK concert, and it was everything I'd hoped it would be. It was shorter than usual since there was a double bill. Each band performed about 1-1/2 hours. Roine is the most emotive guitarist I've seen onstage in all the years that I've been going to live shows. TFK played "Last Minute On Earth," "The Truth Will Set You Free," "Rising The Imperial" and "Numbers."

The final act was bringing everyone (10 people) onstage to perform Transatlantic songs. It was a real party onstage. One person was missing from the Neal Morse, band; one of the most important members IMO. Adson Sodre, one of Neal's new guitarists, let his visa run out and he was sent back to Brazil. They wouldn't extend his visa so he could perform this last show on the tour.

Stepping up to bat was the other new guitarist in the band, Eric Gillette. Not only did he learn all of Adson's lead parts (which for anyone whose seen the band live with the new lineup, you know this is no small feat), he went above and beyond what was expected and put in a stellar performance. Eric's new album, "Afterthought," comes highly recommended by me. The show ended around midnight and started at 7:45 p.m. One of the best gigs I've ever been to cool

Well, here are some pics!

Wolf People are playing in Manchester tonight and I'm in 2 minds whether to go or not. I probably would if it wasn't for an already hectic weekend ahead.

Some passable guitarist and his band playing a selection of songs by an obscure 1970s prog rock band. And it all takes place tonight in west London close to a well known flyover. grin wink cool
