Friday 22nd February - The Floyd Effect (Piper to Meddle)
Saturday 23rd February - The Floyd Effect (Dark Side to Division Bell)

Can't think of a better way of spending two nights in Ruislip listening to superb music. cool

I seem to remember you saying you didn't particularly like any pre-Meddle Floyd. I hope you do enjoy the first night smiley

Your memory is very good. I saw these guys do an "up to Meddle" set before and whilst there were quite a few songs I didn't know/wasn't too keen on, I still loved:

Astronomy Domine
Interstellar Overdrive
Set Controls For The Heart Of The Sun
Fat Old Sun
Fearless
Echoes

Plus by playing Echoes on the first night, they free up some extra time on the second night for more stuff from the classic Dark Side to The Wall period. Finally, at 13 for one night (either night) or 20 for two nights, there really is only one choice. smiley

My next gigs:

G2 Monmouth, Friday

The Union, Wolverhampton Slade Rooms, Saturday
...and if I win the Robin Quickie Quiz, Bravado, Rush tribute, Sunday. grin

The Union has been cancelled cos one of them is ill. angry Might still go and see a band somewhere else though. undecided

A superb band and two great nights. cool I've seen Echoes, In The Flesh, Off The Wall, Perfect Alibi, Think Floyd and The UK Pink Floyd Tribute - all of whom are very good - but The Floyd Effect are definitely the best of the bunch in my book. I'm leaving The Australian Pink Floyd out of this comparison as they play much larger venues and have a bigger budget to match. wink I really wish there was a Genesis tribute band that would play one night of Gabriel era material and one night of Collins era (1976-91) material. But sadly I suspect that Rochdale winning the F.A. Cup is more likely. undecided

There is grin They're called The Carpet Crawlers...go and see them; you'll love their show wink Well, not quite one night of each but one set of each and pretty long sets at that.

Not our next gig but we saw Rumours of Fleetwood Mac last night, at B'ham Town Hall, virtually sold out. They were superb, with the highlights being a 40 minute Peter Green era set and the whole of Rumours.

I'd seen Fleetwood Bac last year and whilst the music was good, their cheesy fake accents and insistence upon calling each other by their fake names really grated with me. Rumours... had none of that nonsense and were all the better for it.

Would love to see them, but sadly they never play anywhere near where I live. sad
