TFK. Like many on the forum, Nov sent me one of his sampler CDs a few years ago. I listened to it about half a dozen times and it just didn't grab me. Don't get me wrong, I didn't dislike it. But whilst there were some really nice passages, there were just as many sections that were quite boring or too "noodly" for my ears. I find the same thing with a lot of music by Yes and to me, there is far more Yes influence in what I've heard by TFK than there is Genesis influence. SDC, on the other hand, sounds fabulous. Cheers! smiley

Ah well, noodly - can't argue with that. TFK are seriously noodly. Don't know what Nov put on your sampler but mine was inspiring...each to his own huh? cool

Do you like his new album? It's not quite up there with his last few but still really good.

Really looking forward to his London show next Friday smiley

Not heard Nik Kershaw's new album yet. I won't list any setlist spoilers except to say you will particularly love the second half of the show. Enough to say he was absolutely amazing and the band are very, very tight.

Have a great time cool

Not to me. I don't like noodly stuff because I find it boring and the same goes for when TFK get (very occaisionally) noodly.

Don't know what Nov put on your sampler

1) In The Eyes Of The World (10:39)
2) The Magic Circus Of Zeb (7:07)
3) Cosmic Circus / Babylon (5:47)
4) Big Puzzle (13:35)
5) Man Of The World (5:59)
6) The Man Who Walked With Kings (5:00)
7) Back In The World Of Adventures (13:37)
8) A King’s Prayer (6:02)
9) I Am The Sun (Part 2) (10:39)

Nothing noodly there I would say. Or, at least, no more noodly than Genesis (for example) wink

Well, I don't know what half you mean but I'm much less interested in hearing the "Human Racing" album than his more recent stuff wink

WOW. I expected a good show, but that was.... AWESOME grin grin grin grin Best gig I've ever been to (not that I have a huge wealth of experience, but still...)

These guys are seriously talented... can't believe they haven't got more recognition for their stonking debut album!

Casey was really the unknown quantity of the band but he was absolutely brilliant. He even did a great rendition of "Hallelujah" in the middle of the gig!

Every song was brilliant, particularly their very own 12-minute epic "Infinite Fire" and their rendition of Spock's Beard's "June".

And at the end, Mike said something like "We will be doing this again!" grin

So glad you enjoyed the show! Yes, everyone in FC is highly talented. Dave LaRue on bass was absolutely jaw-dropping when we saw them on September 4th.

Neal will be touring with Mike Portnoy and Randy George, plus new members he's recruited into the band, in the next few weeks. I'm very much looking forward to that gig on October 6th in Whittier, California. The new album, Momentum, is one of Neal's best! Can't wait!
