The Hollies gig was much more than I expected. cool I expected a generally solid and well-rounded but overally slightly forgettable gig, but it was actually at a really, surprisingly high standard. cool Fantastic, sparkly lighting, excellently melodic and note-perfect guitar parts, spot-on drums and percussion, wonderful vocal harmonization, lots of good-hearted audience participation. While not as good as the Queen tribute gig (that was truly INCREDIBLE on so many levels), The Hollies show was a wonderful, joyful experience. smiley

What Down & Out said - glad you enjoyed it! I didn't want to say too much in advance, having seen them the week before in case it altered your expectations any, but I thought it very good too - the light show was great and it was nice to see a band on stage looking like they were really enjoying themselves. Apparently they have toured every year for the last 50 years so hopefully there will be a chance to catch them again next year!

A fairly eclectic two or three months for me:

Mar 17th: G2, High Wycombe
Mar 23rd: The Hollies, Basingstoke

May 1st: The Osmonds, High Wycombe
May 6th: Manfred Mann's Earth Band, The Stables
May 11/ 12th: G2, The Stables

Yes, that is The Osmonds (not Donny, Marie or little Jimmy though). You must remember I'm a lady of a certain age, and the Osmonds were very big in my impressionable youth!

Tonight, The Osmonds at Symphany Hall Birmingham, best venue in Brum. IMO.
I am also a lady of a certain age, but still young at heart.
Don't worry, Mr H will NOT be in attendance, I'm off with the girls again.

Ooh, have a good time! Let me know what you thought of them! Funnily enough MrEllanory won't be coming with me when I go to see them.... I think he's washing his hair, or would be if he had any left! wink

I saw The Tubes at Hammersmith Odeon in 78 or 79 with Squeeze supporting. That's not a bad double bill!
