Lesley, if you're going to see Who's Who tonight, I hope you enjoy the show. smiley No tribute band for me this week, so I'm going for a Thai meal. smiley

I did enjoy the show, Nige! It was a great night with plenty of flowing beer! grin grin grin The only thing I felt a bit short-changed with (apart from the barman trying to fiddle me out of a pound -ha, I might have been inebriated but not that much!), was the fact that they had backing tracks playing the keyboard parts. I want to hear everything live! The sound wasn't brilliant either but having said all that, they were a terrific band to watch - particularly "Moony." What a phenomenal drummer, eh! Looked and acted like him too! Super bass player too and the singer sounded like Daltry. A thoroughly good night!

Next gig - G2 at the Robin2, next Saturday! smiley smiley smiley

I know exactly what you mean about backing tracks for the keyboards. wink I'm sure a Who afficionado will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that in the early 1970s even the real band didn't have a live keyboard player either. shocked I suppose that Who's Who can't be bothered to recruit a keyboard player just for Won't Get Fooled Again, Baba O'Riley and maybe another couple of tracks. undecided I told you that "Moony" was good. smiley

The Allan Holdsworth concert last night was amazing! It must be said though that Allan's band, and not Allan, were the highlight of the evening. He just seemed off all throughout the gig. He appeared lost and was acting strangely. Jimmy Haslip on 6-string electric bass is one of the best I've ever heard, and then there was Virgil Donati on drums and Dennis Hamm on keyboards. That's a jazz fusion trio I will remember forever.

The opening act was MoeTar. They are from the San Francisco area of California and play a mixture of art rock and progressive rock. Very talented bunch.
