What did you think, Ned? I saw them on Sunday at the Robin. They were incredibly good!

Next gig tomorrow, Fragile at the Robin. smiley

Fab gig but perhaps a little heavier than I expected as most of the material was from the last 2 albums. Good crowed and band well received. They are a top notch band and criminal that they are not up there with the likes of Porcupine Tree, Foo Fighters and Muse.

I would have liked to have heard some of the earlier stuff from 137 perhaps but I guess like most bands with 8 or more albums behind them something has to drop to bring in the new edgier stuff.

So pleased to have finally seen them as they have never toured Scotland before and trying to get way down South is both expensive and time constraining.

Next up for me is Stackridge in Kendal on 28th May - anyone else fancy coming along?

Ps Bruce was superb vocally and his band are as tight as a Rod Stewart's wallet.

Last night I saw Lissie in concert in Oslo. She clearly has an abundance of energy and is quite chatty between hers songs; these being a mixture of her own work and covers. Standing alongside an audience of 1800 fans I felt somewhat older than the average (not hard I her you say!) and, although her music is not my normal cup of tea, the experience was worthwhile. She reminded me a little like Suzi Quattro all those years ago On the slower numbers her voice was akin to Stevie Nicks and to a lesser degree, Shona Laing.
I got the feeling that her popularity will grow in the future and, because she possesses and individual style of rock music, I wish her good fortunes in her career. smiley

Off to see Manfred Mann's Earth Band again tomorrow for two gigs with the new singer (Robert Hart, from latter day Bad Company)
This is very exciting and I hope Manfred has picked well. He has always had great singers in the band over the years, so I am not worried at all. In actual fact the clips I have watched on YouTube are very favourable. At over 70 years Manfred is still fantastic, defying his years and still putting massive energy into around 50 gigs a year. Watch out for his new solo album which is to be released in the Autumn. What I really want is a new Earth Band album which has been much spoken about over the last two years or so.

Thank you.

From what I heard the other week, I'd say Blackfield will be a good night. Must investigate that further....

Elvis Costello and then Peter Gabriel! Woohoo, two of my favorites!

Now if only Genesis, Pink Floyd, and The Beatles would tour again.... grin
