Not me. I won't set foot on the Ferry again.

What about ReGenesis on Oct 16th?

Nov...you know I want to, unfortunately the timing is crap. My son Will's birthday is Oct 15th, I'm doing the PT thing the day before and I'm sure Gooner's got me lined up for something else that week too...
I have this every year now, I don't know what it is about that week but the good gigs seem to crop up on or around Will's birthday. rolleyes

Tonight (Sunday) - SPOCK'S BEARD touring for their "X" album. This is their only USA appearance. Should be great. Hoping to take some pics if allowed.

See my concert photos in the Spock's Beard (CalProg) thread.

Wow! SB were amazing! The crowd was small, which was a shame, but their enthusiasm must have been a great confidence booster for the guys.

They played all of X, plus another hour or so of stuff from their other nine albums, including June, On A Perfect Day, The Doorway, plus many others.

They played a song from Ryo's solo album KAMIKAZE, which was a real crowd pleaser. Ryo jammed on the mellotron for awhile, which gave me goosebumps. Everyone was in top form, concentrating solely on the music and not goofing around much onstage like they usually do.

All in all, a fantastic gig by a great band! cool

Just got back from CalProg. Here are some of the better photos I took. Ambrosia was insanely great!

MiRthkon
This Oakland, California band plays a quirky Zappa-esque brand of electronic jazz fusion with lots of comedy thrown in. Very talented bunch, but a little goes a long way. They played for an hour or so.

This Chicago-based band has a wonderful singer by the name of Leslie Hunt (American Idol finalist). They reminded me a lot of Missing Persons, but with a lot more talent. There's lots of room for them to grow, but they're heading in the right direction with their progressive songwriting.

What can I say? These guys are consummate performers. Fun to watch and their music is addicting. The new bass player (Chris Postl left the band) had great stage presence, and was able to fit in with no problems whatsoever.

I can't say enough great things about these guys. You must get out and buy their CDs. If you love early to mid 1970s progressive rock, they were leading the way, at least here in America. It was unbelievable how they were able to electrify the audience and perform way beyond anyone's expectations. These guys could teach today's prog masters a thing or two. Simply amazing!

Regenesis at the Ferry tomorrow night.

Btw, my internet is down due to a rather nasty virus w32/Rambit.C which placed 2787 infections across my hard drive.yesterday and spent 7 hours trying to scan and repair everyting. Files all corrupt so beware this and do not use Virgin Media's security package - it is sh*t and they will be hearing from me. Reformating on Sunday so nothing from me for a little while. Oh, and lost my review of DM's super album so will have to redo it.

Typing this from work - forbidden but worth the risk
