Barry Gibb's In The Now is worth hearing. In one way it's strange to hear his familiar voice without his brothers' harmonies but many of the songs are far more uptempo than I expected. I don't buy many new releases now. I got Timothy B. Schmit's Leap Of Faith but I thought its predecessor was superior.

Some I have yet to listen to, and others I have yet to purchase. Still a good number of releases coming up, including The Rolling Stones and Kate Bush. Plenty of time left.

I don’t usually get too excited about covers albums, but I have to admit, this is one I have been keenly looking forward to hearing.
My interest is fuelled largely by the fact I really like the Stones’ first three albums which, of course, were almost entirely comprised of cover songs.
“Now” is actually my second-favourite release from the Brian Jones’ era, so I'm hoping there is still some of that old fire left for this new album.

From what I have heard so far it is definitely on my Christmas list

Also enjoyed Dave Kertzner's solo album this year too...

2016 has been quite a strange year for me, discovering new bands with a different style of music.. So far have not been disappointed at all what I've listened to... Will soon update my list as more albums keep popping up on the radar. grin

Bands such as Goblin and Explosion in the Sky to name a few.

I spent so much time this year catching up with the back catalogues of the newly deceased that there was no time left to seek out to new releases! sad

So for me it’s an easy win for Blackstar, thanks to Bowie’s masterstroke of managing to die & release prescient new music simultaneously.

I also like the KB live album, although it's a shame it wasn't released in a dvd/blu-ray format so one could enjoy the spectacular visuals as well, but, it's still an excellent live album.

I also liked Ray Wilson's release this year, Song For A Friend. It's nice.

I will be getting this as a Christmas present from Mrs. Feeder, I agree, a DVD would be nice, probably hit the shops once album sales slump! wink

Don't put my list together until the literal end of year. Santa may bring something that changes everything. But highlights have included Kate Bush, Bowie, The Anchoress, Nick Cave, Marillion, White Lies....
