Apparently, listens in the last 30 days:

1) Joe Jackson - 79
2) John Grant - 69
3) Porcupine Tree - 68
4) Frank Ocean - 64
5) Genesis - 63

Though I'm sure Genesis and Porcupine Tree rise in those rankings once you account for average track length grin

(Funnily enough, the next-most-listened artist, Steven Wilson, only got 28 plays!)

Was it you or was it me? Or was it he or she?

NB: despite what my name may suggest, I was not born in 1972 tongue

Still playing lots of Bob Marley since the last time I posted in this thread.
I guess the other four I've been playing a lot would be:

Santana (they've got a great new album)
The Rolling Stones
King Crimson
(love the new live album)
Rush

I would be interested to hear your thoughts on Neil Diamond.

Still working my way through all the Genesis albums in the car (except for the first & last which I don't have). Finally ordered Up, Dance Into The Light & a Mechanics Greatest Hits.

Neil Diamond was one of the first artists, I became a fan of, when I was very young. My older brother had the album "Just For You", which is one of my all time favorite albums. I remember sitting in my brother`s room at weekends, when he came home from university and listen to it. In 1972, my brother also bought "Hot August Night", which I appreciated in the same way. Just the other day, I listened to it again by headphones and was struck again, how perfectly performed and produced the album is. Definitely one of the finest live albums around.

I must confess, that I am not really interested in Neil`s later work, because he quit playing rock and roll and started writing soft pop. The only albums, I might get interested in, are the more recent ones produced by Rick Rubin, who also did a great job with Johnny Cash.

Neil Diamond is fantastic songwriter, singer and performer and obviously a very polite and gentle man.

The Rick Rubin albums - 12 Songs, Home Before Dark as well as Melody Road which was produced by Don Was - are brilliant. No more soft pop. It's Diamond playing guitar & writing stripped down personal songs, similar to what Rubin did with Cash as you said. There are some wonderful songs on all three albums.
