I think it's meant to be the 5 bands you're listening to currently, not your favourite five bands wink

I mean, I've got "Abba" in my current list. I love 'em but they're not an all-time top 5 band rolleyes

Just curious... smiley

Yes the same one!! (my hero at one time!! cool )
Flight Commander was the band he was with back in the 80s/90s for a bit! - Have a look:-

They are quite weird & not really like The Mission. But I like anything weird & wonderful!!

Simon just does his own stuff now ( his last CD was Lose The Faith) which is probably a bit more like The Mission I guess!

Pity I can't watch youtube on this computer. sad

Nice to know he's still doing the rounds though. I do believe he actually contributed to one of the Mission's later albums. Well, it was either that, or he appeared on stage with them at some point. Can't remember which now.

Thats a pity you can't see Youtube!!
Yes I think Simon toured with The Mission recently but I was only really into their gothic days (back in the 80s!!)

Yes I remember Wayne on a few interviews!! - He got very drunk often!! - He also used to be drunk(or drinking) on stage a lot too from what I remember!! shocked

One late entry is Osada Vida who's album Body Parts Party I've had on heavy rotation since thursday along with A Street Between Sunrise and Sunset...(now there's an album title in search of an acronym!)

Camel (of course!)
Fish (his latest album is a "must have"!)
Sylvan (Posthumous Silence is a stunning album...)
Genesis (mostly W&W and ATotT)
Marillion (Brave & Marbles)

Plus loads more...

Once I get my new Bang & Olufsen sound system set up this week...there'll be no stopping me then...it'll be impossible to just list 5!!

Here are the artists I've been playing a lot recently (mostly new discoveries of the last year or so):

Rascals
Laura Nyro
Chet Baker
Grateful Dead (not a new discovery, but right now I'm really getting into their live albums, especially the Dick's Picks series)

Thanks Fraser, for rubbing it in! sad wink

Tower Of Strength is a great song. In fact, the first half of the album Children is superb. My only complaint is that the album is very quiet, and seems to go quieter as it goes on. (Yes, I know I could turn it up, but that's not the point!)
I wonder if it's been remastered?
I used to have a video of the band live, but I don't know where it went. They were surprisingly good. (My nephew Philip got me into them, back around the time of Children.)
It was often said that Wayne Hussey wasn't a good singer, but I felt his voice suited the songs perfectly.
I actually like one of their later albums, Masque, a lot. Their style has changed on it, and they've become a little more polished, but the songs are very varied and very catchy. It's a fine album, imo. smiley
