You absolutely cannot go wrong buying Chicago II. It's the ultimate feelgood album of 1970, their first after changing their name from Chicago Transit Authority.

Chicago VI is also very good. I've seen them live in concert many times, and you just really don't see consummate musicians like this around much anymore.

Yes, VI is great as well...I'm working on the Chicago discography myself but I haven't yet encountered a Kath-era album that I don't like.
