Well, for possibly the first time ever, I have to admit I don't recognise any of those five names at all!

Woohoo, I haven't run across anyone (on the official Genesis site) who listens to Harry. Nilsson Schmilsson is the very first album I ever bought, and almost forty years later I still listen to it regularly. smiley

I made them all up!!

No, really, Ryan Adams has a following here in the states, kind of alternative rock with a dark country/folk tinge

Son Volt- The Jay Farrar remains of the old Uncle Tupelo (the other remnant is Jeff Tweedy, who has Wilco)

Human Highway is the Canadian concoction of Nick "Diamonds" Thorburn of Unicorns and Islands and Jim Guthrie, grandson to Woody Guthrie

Old 97s - just rockin' band from earlier in the 2000s that I like sometimes

Ted Leo - some punk, some rock, great energy

Thanks for the info Peng. Actually, if I really dig deep into the forgotten chambers of my old brain, I think I can vaguely recall the name Ryan Adams, but I think the only reason it's there at all is because I thought I'd misheard Bryan Adams!

Good to learn about all these other bands. smiley
