It's been a while since I reported back here with my current top five, so, let's see...

Without a doubt, the band I've been hammering the most over the last month or two is:

IQ

the other four bands would have to be:

Karmakanic
Tomas Bodin
Steve Hackett
Rush

Nik Kershaw
Nik Kershaw
Nik Kershaw
Nik Kershaw
plus
The Flower Kings

Seriously!

I went to see Nik in Cambridge a couple of weeks ago and it was a great gig so I've been on a real Nik binge for the past few weeks. His more recent albums are especially good.

Haven't posted in this thread in more than two months.
Since then, King Crimson or anything else involving Robert Fripp have been the most predominant part of my listening diet.

Others I've been playing a lot of include:
Porcupine Tree or anything else involving Steven Wilson
Steve Hackett
The Doors
The Rolling Stones

My ability to have access to this great music wouldn't be where it is today without the support and guidance of my loyal music-loving friends, and that includes you Carl wink Before coming to this board, my love for progressive rock was, and always had been, very strong, but I had no outlet. As far as I was concerned, the music industry had nothing of any substance left to offer. Ever since Nov introduced me to Spocks Beard about 3 years ago, and their vast scope of musical talent, along with The Flower Kings, I've been the recipient of more wonderful music than I ever imagined existed on the planet. My cup runneth over. I never knew there was so much wonderful music being made all around the world. Many thanks to you all, and hopefully there are many more years ahead for us all to keep enjoying what these talented individuals have to offer smiley

Er..that's quite some speech Dave, I can feel a lump in me throat as I type.

I know exactly how you feel though, good music and good friends, you can't beat it! wink
