Forgot to mention this one. My Dad bought it at the Hollies gig I went to. After he's done with it I'll listen to it myself.

The Plimsouls, Everywhere At Once.

Early '80s guitar-based New Wave/Pop similar to the Modern English, Pretenders, and Psychedelic Furs of that era. You may know the song "A Million Miles Away" from the club scene in the film Valley Girl. Highly recommended for those who like that sort of music.

cool

I'm very pleased with Balloon Astronomy's debut album. It's fascinating that you can hear the band's musical influences so clearly throughout the album. There is also a definite Genesis influence. Very few artists come through the gate so finely honed. A grand example of progressive rock originating right here in SoCal, San Diego to be exact. Thanks for the heads up on this, Marygold! Greatly appreciated!

Favorite song - "Eagle"
Least favorite song - "Sigmoid Fletcher" wink

Yesterday I went shopping with my Dad and brother. My brother had some tokens to use up, and he bought:

Queen - The Game
Ultravox - Best Of
Spandaut Ballet - Best Of
The Human League - Dare
Wet Wet Wet - Best Of
Erasure - Erasure

Not the most exciting purchases... remember that my brother has a strict 80s-themed music taste which is comprised of pure pop. rolleyes undecided

My Dad also bought the Best of Tom Petty, which I'm not too sure about. So, 7 CDs in total. I didn't buy anything as I'm recieving more albums from Ned soon, though I bought something in WHSmith and Game.
