Last week Opeth-Blackwater Park which I'm not too impressed with(not keen on the growling.Does he think he's a Troll?) and Coheed And Cambria-Good Apollo:I'm Burning Star vol 1 which I'm very impressed with.

I'm trying to change my cd collection by getting rid ofg cd's I don't really listen to(apart from what I consider classics) and buying new bands and old bands cd's that I used to have on vinyl that I consider classics for example:-

Fleetwood Mac- Rumours
Alice Cooper-From The Inside
Wings-Band On The Run
Steve Hackett-Cured
10cc-Original Soundtrack
E.L.P.-Works vol 1

New bands I've never bought before:-

Dream Theater-Metropolis(like it)
Pure Reason Revolution-The Dark Third(excellent)
Anathema-Natural Disaster (like it)
Nightwish-Dark Passion Play(good)
Muse-Hullabaloo(ok)

If you don't have it, get Opeth's 'Damnation' CD. There are no growls and its very mellow with Steve Wilson on board too.

Pineapple Thief - 3000 days

It's a compilation of the best of their albums. It was playing in that vinyl record shop in Farnham on Saturday so I impulse bought it as I'm going to see them support Riverside soon!

It#s good stuff!

There's a half-decent sale in Tower Records in Dublin right now, with some interesting stuff. I picked up the following:

Ayreon: Timeline Box Set (15)
Everon: North (10)
Karmakanic: Whose the Boss... (10)
Michael Sadler: Clear (5)
Jim Gilmour: Great Escape (5) - listened to this last night. Excellent and highly recommended to fans of early Saga.
Tangerine Dream: Thief (5)
Todd Rundgren: Arena (5)

I love The Guess Who. Being Canadian-born, I grew up on their great music.

My first album of theirs was "Share The Land."

I now own the double-CD "The Best Of The Guess Who." One of the many great bands who've contributed to rock history.
