Led Zeppelin - Coda (Deluxe Edition)

For an album that was intended to mark a closing chapter for Led Zeppelin, they finally got it right.
Certainly far more worthwhile than the original release.

I just picked up the 3-disc set.
I trust Henry is awaiting the delivery of the full box set with LPs, discs and accompanying book. wink

You have quite the insight into human nature. grin

I've listened to Arena's Contagion two or three times but for some reason I can't remember any of it. It clearly didn't grab me, but I'll listen to it again soon. Maybe when I do so, my memory will be jogged.

With regards to Pendragon's Men Who Climb Mountains, though... it's an awesome album! cool

I still don't own Moving Pictures.

I feel like I should love Rush. I do really like Permanent Waves and A Farewell To Kings, but 2112 is not as good and I can't get on with Power Windows or Clockwork Angels, which was a real let down for me. I know there is a massive amount of love for this band, but I don't have any other albums of theirs. So Moving Pictures and Hemispheres is probably where I should go?

undecided

Definitely. Even if you are not an ardent Rush fan, you will probably love both albums, especially when you already have and like Permanent Waves and A Farewell To Kings. In my personal perception, Moving Pictures is the most accessable album of the band.

Ordered today:

Rick Wakeman - Criminal Record
Rick Wakeman - At Lincoln Cathedral

I wanted the Lincoln Cathedral disc for quite some time - it's just RW performing alone on a cathedral organ and grand piano.
I thought since I am getting that, I may as well replace my mp3 version of CR, now that it is finally officially available on CD.

If you like The Unquiet Sky, you should like Contagion. Sometimes it takes a bit longer for an album to 'sink in' shall we say? I loved it right from the start. Once it does gel with you, you'll want to get Contagion Max, the two disc version with the extra songs that were left off the original release. It's excellent. wink

I listened to that album a couple of days ago, and I much enjoyed it. cool It had been a while since I'd heard it, but the album is fresh in my mind now. smiley

Wait a sec... there's a two disc version? Ned sent me the single disc version only, unless I'm mistaken. At the moment I don't need Contagion Max but perhaps some time in the future, I'll get it.

Yeah, as mentioned, Moving Pictures is likely their most accessible, and definitely most popular album. It's also my favourite, so highly recommended.

Hemispheres can be hit & miss for some. "Side one" has been criticized, even by the band, for being a little overindulgent, while "side two" is arguably one of their strongest.

If you end up liking Moving Pictures, then I would recommend their two following albums, Signals and Grace Under Pressure. I've always considered these albums to form a kind of trilogy because the style and sound of the band is very consistent.
