Since my wife thinks I have "enough" CDs, she never buys me music for Christmas anymore.
So I've resorted in the last couple of years to treating myself to new music. I wrap it, write "From Santa," and add it to the gifts under the tree.
On Christmas morning I'll feign surprise and express great joy - the latter often being quite genuine since it's usually something I've wanted for a while or been very curious about but just never got around to getting.

So, on Santa's behalf, I just ordered:
Big Big Train - The Difference Machine
(it's my long-overdue, initial foray into the pre-David Longdon albums, so I'm very much looking forward to hearing it for the first time, likely on Christmas or perhaps the day after)

Fantastic album and Sean Filken's swan song. Brilliant musically and vocally and you really do need to get the Gathering Speed album thereafter.

When I get CDs for Christmas they're always "From: The Dog." smiley

I like that. Good idea.

"Santa" always has to wait until Christmas Eve, whereas our dogs could discretely place their gift to me under the tree any time.

Been thinking of getting that. I've heard it described as "Avalon Part II". How do you like it?

EDIT: Interesting cover photo, seeing as he's nearly 70.
