Excellent album. cool Don't know about the other two. I've never heard of a band called Motorpsycho, and I still own only one Steve Hackett album - gasp! shocked At the moment though I'm not in any real hurry to acquire the rest of the Genesis solo stuff. smiley

Where have you been, NSOV?

As I recall, the one Hackett album you have is VOTA, which is absolutely phenomenal IMHO.

I highly recommend almost every album he has released, except for maybe "Cured," which was released in the 80s; a horrible period for even the best musical artists.

Steve has released over 20 albums since VOTA shocked

He's put out some of his greatest material in the 21st century. Amazing talent! smiley

At the moment I don't think I should be buying any more music, because I'm running out of money and I really need to save a few hundred pounds for the last term of university. And yes, you are correct, the one Hackett album I have is VOTA and I will get more eventually. I really don't want to get the "Revisited" albums though, because I like the Genesis songs as they are.

I've posted about Motorpsycho a few times around here - a slightly odd Norwegian (fairly heavy) prog rock band that's been around a while. I've only heard their 2012 concept album The Death Defying Unicorn which I thought was really quite extraordinary, though a lot of the songs were rather too extended IMO. This new album sounds very interesting and much more light-hearted.

As for Cured, well I've got 8 fantastic Steve Hackett albums now, and there are many more to get, but I think I can safely leave the recent re-issues for a little while - the prices may even go down! - whereas I don't want to leave Cured and Highly Strung until it's too late! (Their remasters were released in 2007 but who knows when they will stop being printed - they're hardly the most popular Steve albums!)

I will admit though that Lightbulb Sun is the one of the three I ordered to which I'm most looking forward. smiley

Just ordered...
FM - Direct to Disc

(finally, finally this is available on CD. In fact now all the post-Black Noise FM albums have been remastered and I believe, released for the first time on CD. Great news for those of us who have been patiently waiting)

A pretty good album, though it took me a while to get into it. It's an extremely complex album and this can make it sound messy and overindulgent at times. I like it quite a lot now though. smiley

With no sign of my Steven Wilson CD arriving any time soon - 12 days now and counting angry - I felt the need for another new CD. So I bought this:

It set me back the princely sum of 25 pence per gold bar at Sainsburys. smiley
