Their third album, Beautiful Garbage, is my favorite by far, though I'm not sure it's a fan-favorite. It's much less heavy and more pop-oriented (and, in my opinion, more melodic) than the others. I recently burned an 80-minute Garbage CD, which I've been listening to every other day or so for months, and realized after I made it that nearly half the songs came from that album.

I've heard 'Beautiful Garbage' but I would say 'Version 2.0' is their best smiley

I wonder, how you will like the album. I have their first two albums and like them quite a bit. I have seen/ heard the new single on mtv and liked it, too.

My wife and me go dancing on a regular basis and many tracks from Amy McDonald are good for standard - dance, mostly quick step.

I've heard the lead single a couple of times and like it. I love her first 2 albums, though I prefer This Is The Life to A Curious Thing. I think the former is a bit more raw whilst the latter is perhaps slightly overproduced. However a song like Troubled Soul is quite beautiful. I don't think that Amy is likely to try anything much different on the new album and that's fine by me as I don't think you necessarily have to innovate to produce enjoyable music. For somebody who is still only 24, I think that Amy writes songs with a maturity beyond her years. And in an age of bubblegum pop and manufactured singers, that is to be greatly admired. smiley

Just light, melodic pop/folk music by a singer/songwriter with a soothing, beautifully-expressive voice (and "easy on the eyes," as D&O might say). wink

It's not particularly challenging or groundbreaking, but I like it. smiley

Very nice voice. I was listening to her album All Of You recently. Easy listening, stress free music

Have you got any other Editors albums D&O? The newest one, ' In this light and on this evening ' is my favourite.

I've got the debut album The Back Room and really enjoy it. What's In This Light And On This Evening like? I've read that it was a change of style and is more electronic/keyboard based. The thing I can't understand is all the comparisons between Editors and Joy Division. huh Joy Division are a band that I really don't like at all. undecided

ITLAOTE is a bit different and more electronic, but still sounds like Editors and very good it is too! ' An End Has A Start ' is very good too, but a bit too serious and sad for me I guess. As for Joy Division, I don't know what that's all about really, as I'm not a fan of them either!
