That is what external hard drives are for. I incorporated my complete music collection into iTunes last spring, which took me around 4 weeks (around 10.000 tracks). That was the moment, when I got my self an external hard drive.

Yep. I remembered that I used one nearly three years ago to transfer data from one computer to another, so I have a bunch of stuff recovered already. smiley

Sorry to be "ignorant" and "ill-informed" yet again, but why does this song's appearance in the shuffle surprise you?

Of course all songs are equally likely to appear in a truly random shuffle. The attendant Renaissance album, A Song For All Seasons, is beautiful but that song is the dud one in my opinion. I suppose that with hindsight I shouldn't have ripped it. undecided

Thanks! I still have to re-load Jazz and Soundtracks and Compilation CDs, so my future shuffles may include more Pat Metheny and assorted '80s pop songs.

(And related to getting my computer up and running again, you will soon be receiving that CD I promised you many weeks ago! smiley )

I know you are only kidding around but I find it rather unappreciative and closed-minded of you to instantly refer to jazz and 80s pop music as "garbage". rolleyes It may not be your cup of tea but that music was created for people to listen to, and the least you could do is accept it as music instead of comparing it to something you would find in a landfill. wink

After all, who was the one who defended the Genesis pop era by claiming that it is at least much better than today's chart music? You. And I agreed. So let's not call that kind of stuff garbage - it is proper music. Sorry to sound like I'm lecturing again but I really wish everyone would feel the same way about this. smiley Not enough people do - there are still people on here claiming how a lot of decent, middle-of-the-road bands are "crap" just because they aren't as good as more talented bands. undecided
