Just listened to this to get it out of the way before checking out The Jewel.

My reaction? Meh. Also, certainly not fond of the cover of the album. I expected this one to be a mediocre slog, and my expectations were met.

Come on, NSOV, it is not as bad as that. Some of the tracks on the album are still played live today, such as the title track or Total Recall. Give it a chance.

It's not bad, it's just not that good either, in my opinion. It's just so-so, a passable record but easily their weakest. I even liked The Wedge by Pallas better.

Agreed regarding Kowtow. Most Pendragon fans would put it at the bottom of their catalogue. It covers the phase when they were trying to get more airplay and sound a bit poppier. Still some good songs on it though and I do like it, just not as much as their others. wink

Now playing: Anima Mundi - Jagannath Orbit.

Great album! smiley

After a couple spins I can safely say that I like this new album better than the other two. Milliontown (their debut) is fabulous, but this tops it.

New 2016 album release by The Monkees! If you were ever a Monkees fan, this album will bring back all that 60s fun. Songwriting contributions by Boyce & Hart (who wrote many of the Monkees songs), plus Neil Diamond and Andy Partridge (XTC). A wonderful album that I'll continue to play over and over. I was a huge Monkees fan as a kid in the 60s and couldn't get enough of them. Mickey, Mike and Peter have successfully brought the band into the 21st century while taking the listener back to the great sounds of the 60s, and Davy Jones makes an appearance in a track that was recorded for a 70s Monkees box set. This is a real treat!
