smiley I've been raiding the parents' vinyl again: I already recorded Look Sharp! (which has got "Is She Really Going Out With Him?") but today I added I'm the Man, Night and Day (featuring "Steppin' Out" and "Breaking Us in Two") and Body and Soul. The songs you highlight are indeed the ones that stand out for me!

I've been a massive Joe Jackson fan forever. His Live 1980/86 album is phenomenal, and this slow version of "Steppin' Out" is one of the most sublime things ever!! cool

Night And Day and Body And Soul are my favorite albums by JJ.

I remember rushing out & buying ďItís Different for GirlsĒ on first hearing it, followed by his first 2 albums. Saw him live & got the others in the 90s when Laughter & Lust came out. Although I didnít really keep up with him after that I still canít even pick a favourite album, let alone a favourite song from the dozens of contenders.

Iíd rate Joe as the best of all the solo artists who emerged out of the late 70s New Wave scene, & thatís some compliment. smiley

Hard for me to place him above Costello, but it's damned close. smiley

Just finished listening to:

Kenso - Kenso 3

Another good album by this quirky Japanese fusion band. Excellent stuff!

I saw Joe Jackson back in the 80s - he was great, but he didn't play what to me is his greatest song, Real Men. Imagine seeing Phil & he didn't do ITAT. The whole Night & Day album which contains this song as well as Steppin' Out & Breaking Us In Two is really good I only have one other album by him, Laughter & Lust, which is fun too.

Real Men was one of his (many!) great songs but I donít recall it ever being a hit, at least not in the UK. Maybe thatís why it wasnít in the tour set?

Big World has several of his best songs, but there isnít a Joe Jackson studio album between Look Sharp & Laughter & Lust that hasnít got at least one of his best songs on it, apart from 2 film soundtracks & Jumpiní Jive which is all covers.

Just finished playing: Davey Johnstone - Smiling Face (Thanks to COT)

An excellent little album, and the sound quality, considering the age of it, is superb. Thanks Dave!

Well that is weird. It was certainly a hit here in Australia & was how I knew of him after Is She Really.... so I went to that show fully expecting that he would play the song!
