David Coverdale and Whitesnake have re-recorded his fave songs from when he was in Deep Purple. It's really quite good. Missing though is vocalist/bassist extraordinaire, Glenn Hughes, but it still rocks. I recommend this for fans of Coverdale/Hughes era Deep Purple.

David Cross and Robert Fripp 'Starless Starlight'. Interesting but not sure after one listen.

I remember exactly where I was in 1974 when I first heard 'Crime Of The Century.' I was at a friend of a friend's house. He was an audiophile and had a top-of-the-line turntable and stereo system. One of the truly great albums of the 70s. Too bad they never matched it's greatness on their later albums.

I owned The Autobiography Of Supertramp for many years, and listened to it often, without ever being inclined to explore in more detail their back catalogue. Then I heard the live version (from Paris) of A Soapbox Opera, fell in love with it, and promptly set about buying everything they did with Hodgson in their ranks.

Do you have the Live in Paris DVD? I recommend it. Gives me shivers to see them back in the day. I got to see them after Hodgson left, for the Brother Where You Bound tour. It was great, but Roger was missed big time. Get that DVD if you've not already.

Say what you will about Phil's sappy cartoon music... I like it. It's also my favorite Disney movie after Lion King and Aladdin. smiley

Just checked out the Live in Paris DVD on Amazon - thanks for the heads up!

I wanted to get tickets for Hodgson's RAH gig next spring, but my wife wasn't overly enthusiastic. The DVD will be the next best thing!

(Hodgson's In The Eye Of The Storm is well worth checking out, by the way, if you haven't already.)

I do have In The Eye Of The Storm, and yes it's very good.

I hope you can play your DVDs thru a stereo system because the sound is amazingly good for 1979.

Supertramp were never in my top ten bands but I did enjoy a lot of their stuff. Got to admit though that after Roger left they were never the same. His voice made the band, imo.
As for In The Eye Of The Storm, in my view that album is as good as anything Supertramp ever did as a band. Great album! wink

Now listening to:

Rocket Scientists - Supernatural Highways (Thanks Dave, excellent stuff wink )

Dave Kerzner - New World. If you have not heard this yet then get your hands on the 2 cd deluxe edition. Utterly fantastic music with shades of. Floyd, Sounds of Contact and ELO. You will not be disappointed.
