The Tangent - A Place In The Queue

Probably my second favourite Tangent album after their debut. Strong, consistent, melodic songs bookended by two fine epics. Great stuff! cool

Hi Dave, yes, I have a copy of it. It's superb, you're right. I suppose The Tangent are a bit like Pendragon in the fact that many people are put off them because of the vocals, They're not great, I'll grant you, but if you can get past them, the music, composition and playing are all top notch. Great band. I wonder what The Music That Died Alone Part 2 will be like, minus Roine Stolt? If it's like the first album it'll be a belter. smiley

I've got it on pre-order. Looking forward to it. I've gotten to where I don't mind Andy's vocals. I feel like I can relate to him after all these years. He conveys his thoughts quite well in his songs. And yes, the music is almost always incredible.

Love the cover Dave, what's the music like? Any comparisons you can give?

Now playing:

TPE have 5 albums and 1 EP. They're all very good. TPE is a multi-instrumentalist who wants to remain anonymous, and only goes by the name The Psychedelic Ensemble. He does have guest musicians and vocalists, but he plays the bulk of the instruments himself.

ALBUMS:
The Art Of Madness
The Dream Of The Magic Jongleur
The Myth Of Dying
The Tale Of The Golden King
The Sunstone

EP:
Silent Sam
