Possibly his best yet - a spectacular album! cool

If you compare it to Grace For Drowning the first impression is, that it is far more accessible. It took me very long to really get into Grace For Drowning, but having fathomed that, I say that this one is his masterpiece.

Hand Cannot Erase is definitely another great album. But I was a bit disappointed, because I wasn`t really challenged by it. The music has got a lot of Porcupine Tree, even Blackfield, which is not bad at all, but from a solo album from SW, I would have expected a bit more. The most interesting track so far seems to be Ancestral.

I will definitely spend a lot more time on this album. Because it really sounds great in my ears. Perfect life moved me to tears.

I loved virtually all of it. It features everything I love about PT and Steven Wilson in it, and more. Perhaps it isn't quite as experimental as it should have been, but to be honest, I don't want to go looking for flaws in it. This album was an instant winner for me, I'd already give it at least an 8. I'm going to listen to the other three Wilson solo albums again soon, so I can compare them with HCE.

You are right Henry - it is not an album...yet!!

I was just adding my post to the threads in which Steven Wilson featured recently in any way, in order to maximise my chances of selling my tickets.

In relation to the thread however, the new SW album is the one I am listening to prior to seeing him - and the more I hear it the more I like it! Was sceptical at first, did not think it could match or better the Raven, but I think it has, although clearly a different type of musical feel.

Nice pop rock. Hear loads of influences in there. Saw it for a fiver and thought it was worth investigation. Not disappointed. Great driving music.

Karmakanic - 'Wheel Of Life'
User Image

It's been awhile since I've listened to this, but wow this is an amazing album. If you've not heard Karmakanic's music, you're in for a treat. These guys are uber talented. Thanks a thousand times over to Nov for introducing me to TFK and all its affiliated bands so many years ago. I was ready to give up on the state of music back in the mid 2000s, when I came upon this site. Jon (Nov) was the first one to reach out and show me that progressive rock was not dead.
