I like all the Djam Karet albums I have but this one has struck a chord with me on first listen and could possibly be the best album I have heard from them. Listening again at the moment. Great musicianship.

Ditto! From Wikipedia: "The many different versions of the album can be distinguished by the colour of the artwork. The original UK version has a dark green cover, the European version a black one, the US version white; the international version has a red-brown scheme, and the Japanese version is blue. The original British one includes the track "On a Day Like Today" and the Japanese "Allemande"."

As an Aside, my copy of "Under the iron sea" is in an environmentally friendly cover (It's recyclable, for when you throw it away. What kind of band expects you to throw their album away huh) It MIGHT be environmentally friendly, but it's not CD friendly, cos it won't hold on to the bloody thing. You have to be careful every time you handle it. It was a present. I'd have bought the normal one.

"One wish?"
"Yes, one" said the genie.
"Simple! I'll have the musical talent of Steve Hackett" I replied!

A bit like the Abacab cover then with its multiple colour schemes.

I'm not fond the colour green (especially the shade they chose for the UK cover), so I instead chose the red cover for my iTunes. smiley

A rather disappointing album by this band, but it's worth another play.

What a magnificent album! shocked That was such a pleasure to listen to. smiley It's a shame that it ends so abruptly after that lovely song with the singing children, but that is only a minute flaw. Easily the best I've heard from Mike so far. Next week - Incantations. smiley
