Mrs Backdrifter and I love the Stone movies and also have them all on dvd. I like the slow-paced atmospheric feel of them.

Just got round to watching ep. 2 this weekend, the Mary Whitehouse experience! grin Funny thing, before the name cropped up, I was thinking the band in it must be based on the Kinks, what with 2 brothers in it.

Lots of fine attention to period details, can't say I've spotted anything amiss (eg/ radios/cars etc that weren't available yet.)

Looking forward to the last one now! wink

Finally, (at last!) got round to watching the last episode a few days ago. If the many tarot cards referencing Voyage of the Acolyte weren't enough, the bible basher's character name was Nigel Warren, the cello player on Steve's album is Nigel Warren-Green. wink

I thought it was very disappointing. My least favourite SW movie so far. The characters were stone-cold dull, the humour was lacking, the plot was sluggish and thin, the tone was so serious that there was hardly any sense of fun throughout, and although the action scenes and visual effects were spectacular, they arrived too late into the story to be fully enjoyable for me. I just couldn't get into the characters and the slow-paced, gloomy story; I just sat there trying to not fall asleep. I know it takes place during Vader's reign of terror (and that ending scene with him was badass) but that doesn't excuse the film's severe lack of charm because the original trilogy was also set during dark times, and yet it had oodles of fun, goofy and joyous moments. The characters in Rogue One rarely even smiled.

And as for the CGI Tarkin and Leia? Way too creepy for me. The entire time I was looking at Tarkin's face, it was so obvious that it was done with effects. It wasn't realistic, it was ugly and distracting. Leia didn't look right either.
