I feel similarly about the Patriots. Although I have a lot respect for the team, I'm tired of them being so good for almost two decades now. I find sports dynasties to be annoying.

What did you think? At least the first 2 episodes of this series had their good moments but the last one..... oh dear! Except for the point just before Sherlock's flat blew up, when it all too briefly turned into Frasier. smiley

Endeavour on the other hand (1960s detective drama now - like Sherlock - in its 4th series) continues to be thoroughly good entertainment & far less unbelievable, & even continues to throw in the occasional Genesis reference. Last week’s came when someone had to restart a prototype computer, provoking the question: “So you switch it off & turn it on again?” wink

Sherlock ep. 3 was OK, but I'm surprised ep 2 didn't cause a furore, as it was clearly based on Jimmy Savile!

Finally got to watch ep 1 of Endeavour last night, there was, arguably, another Genesis ref, as it started with Morse at a musical recital, and the music was Satie, as per Steve & John Hackett's 2000 album, "Sketches of Satie".

Thought this week’s Endeavour episode 3 was disappointingly drab after last week’s psychedelic ep 2, but then I hate dramas set in hospitals & can’t understand their popularity. No Genesis references either this week unless I missed something!

I enjoyed Midsomer Murders more this week - purely because it was set in a rabbit show & there were some gorgeous bunnies in the cast cheesy

Yeah, I wasn't happy about yesterday's games either. Especially the NFC Championship.

You want gorgeous bunnies? Here are ours:

Toby (black and white) & Jasmine (brown & white), along with a brief appearance by our old dog, Hallie, who died over a year ago.

Endeavour last episode & they sure packed a lot into it this week including nuclear accidents, the Wicker Man, gritty 1960s unwanted pregnancy drama & a 2000-year old murder victim preserved in a bog (obviously based on the discovery of Lindow Man about a mile from where I live).

Definite Hackett references this week in the tarot cards, with the Hierophant & the Tower struck down featuring heavily!

Just got round to watching ep. 2 this weekend, the Mary Whitehouse experience! grin Funny thing, before the name cropped up, I was thinking the band in it must be based on the Kinks, what with 2 brothers in it.

Lots of fine attention to period details, can't say I've spotted anything amiss (eg/ radios/cars etc that weren't available yet.)

Looking forward to the last one now! wink

I wondered if the brothers reference was the Kinks although the drug-induced mental breakdown of the band’s most talented member must have been inspired by Syd Barrett.

You’ll particularly enjoy the scene where Morse visits Sheila Hancock, the priestess whose hands appear turning a card at the end of the earlier episodes in this series. He shows her the Hierophant card he’s found & she reads 4 cards for him including the Lovers & Tower struck down. “Don’t tell me, I’m going on a journey - by sea perhaps?” says Morse sarcastically. grin

Incidentally, I guess you know it was Sheila Hancock's husband who used to play Morse in the contemporary series? As his daughter also appears at times, I guess that is pretty good endorsement from the family.

And yes, there was a bit of Pink Floyd about them to, I guess.

Still got ep. 3 to watch first! cry

Yes, it was a nice family tribute to the original Morse which I didn’t see, but can’t imagine it was as entertaining as Endeavour. Apparently next series we’re going to get 6 episodes instead of the usual 4 all set in 1968, so there’ll be at least one TV drama series to look forward to next year.
