The board doesn't like it when you try to use a "https" url for an image - delete the "s" to make it "http" and it will work fine smiley

Was it you or was it me? Or was it he or she?

NB: despite what my name may suggest, I was not born in 1972 tongue

Quite interesting documentary about concept albums presented by Rick Wakeman:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b079s0n0/when-pop-went-epic-the-crazy-world-of-the-concept-album

It covered many of the best-known concept albums (Tommy, Dark Side of the Moon, Ziggy Stardust & of course The Lamb), among less obvious examples from Woody Guthrie, Marvin Gaye, Laura Marling & Public Enemy.

and so it did!

Pretty good, and Rick is always a good host of a show. Slightly disappointed that, having moved onto the concept of space, they moved into the 70's and David Bowie, missing out on the most topical and arguably best concept album of all time, the Moodies late 1969 album "To Our Children's Children's Children" but I guess you can't have everything. Where would you keep it? smiley

Well they had to omit something to give the programme time to cover each of Rick’s own concept albums individually cheesy .... I guess that’s the perks of being the presenter!

Some of the other inclusions were a bit unexpected & not what immediately springs to mind as a concept album. There was an air of “we’d better shoehorn hip-hop into this programme somewhere to make it seem more relevant” wink

Last night: Pink Floyd - Delicate sound of thunder, via Sky Arts HD download, but had to pause it to watch:

The Shadows - The final tour, from 2004, via Sky Arts. Excellent stuff, Hank and Bruce both doing a fine job, and Brian Bennett not really impressing until his drum solo! Lots of Cliff hits (many written by the Shads) with Brian and Hank sharing vocals, which they did well. Almost certainly still available as an "on demand" on Sky Arts. Recommended! wink

A programme shown on BBC4 last week now on iPlayer about the record label "EMI The Inside Story". Often interesting account & footage of all the great bands they’ve signed including the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Duran, Blur & the whole Sex Pistols debacle. And now they have ..... Emily Sandé (how have the mighty fallen! rolleyes )

Plus a couple of pure Pern comments courtesy of Spandau Ballet’s clothing budget & the ever-amusing Roger Taylor bemused by light bulbs grin

I have nothing to add to Charlie Brooker’s description of Ms Sandé as a “caterwauling ice-cream cone” laugh

Yay, The Musketeers is back for a 3rd series: implausible plots, sillier hair, a new dastardly villain, & all the fight action still takes place in the same patch of woodland. Why change a winning formula? cheesy
