I was really psyched when I heard about this show... an HBO series about the record business in New York City in the early 1970s, produced by Scorcese and with a rock background and portrayals of young Iggy Pop and Lou Reed and Robert Plant. What's not to like?

It's terrible. I made it through the first 90 minutes of the two-hour pilot, then I just turned it off, bored to tears. Apart from a 20-second snippet of "All the Young Dudes" being played on someone's radio, there was not a single interesting, creative, or original moment. Gives me a good opportunity to use two of my favorite critical terms... "tepid" and "pedestrian." Don't bother with it.

cool

Thanks for this. I saw just saw the ad on the back page of the New York Times, was going to look for it. Won't bother now.

I forgot Better Call Saul was starting up, going to look for the first episode on demand!

BBC4 music documentary on Daft Punk featuring contributions from Nile Rodgers (impossible to watch without thinking of Danny John-Julesí impersonation of him) & Kanye West, who managed to talk about himself without saying anything about Daft Punk, but at least he didnít appeal for money! laugh

If it isn't On Demand you can catch it tonight on AMC at 11:00pm or tomorrow night at 9:00 pm right before episode 2 airs.

Great third episode of the The X-Files new series. I wasnít sure about the reboot after seeing the first 2 episodes, but this one was a traditional monster comedy classic smiley

You're welcome. smiley

As for episode 2..... Squat cobbler!! grin

Jimmy is the best and I think we got a little foreshadowing once again. I think I can see how/why/when Saul enters the picture but no apoilers from me until I know everyone has seen this episode. wink

It was, wasnt it? He played it with such a straight face it had me cracking up. laugh The whole scene was great. It was almost like a Saturday Night Live bit. From the other actors in it to his client in the background. Just a classic scene all around,IMO. Well written, superbly acted and so, so funny!

I love this show when he plays crooked. The Chuck story is depressing!

Yes me too. He's so good when crooked. cool

The Chuck part is what I think going to play a big part in the Jimmy/Saul transition. That and Kim.

Chuck pisses me off because I think at the root of everything he's jealous of Jimmy's talents, and being off his rocker a bit, can't handle it and in turn tries to sabotage Jimmy where he can. It's going to be fun to see where this goes and how bad it really gets for Jimmy to turn into Saul.

I just watched the X-Files finale. I'd be interested in discussing it with you guys when you're done.

I saw it, thinking next season (if there is one) may have hopefully more episodes because of the two new young characters with Mulder and Scully having lesser roles.

Will talk more when others have seen it
