War & Peace is my favourite book & I loved the 1972 version with Anthony Hopkins. This version concentrates on the villians instead of the heroes & has been dumbed down. I'm very disappointed overall although I've enjoyed some scenes - if you love a book as much as I love this you can't help it.

I havenít read the book but am also disappointed with this, despite the lavish costumes & settings. All the characters are overprivileged & most of them are dim &/or unpleasant (although Jim Broadbent is at least funny). I donít care what happens to any of them & doubt Iíll watch it to the end.

Plus for the last month itís been scheduled against ITVís 1960s ace detective drama Endeavour, which comprehensively trounces it!

Watched the first two episodes of a show called 'Hand of God' It's on Amazon Prime. Pretty good so far.

Still watching the other Amazon one, The man in the high castle....violent...upsetting....still pretty good though, will keep going.

Not sure if I mentioned that I watched 10 minutes of the second episode of BILLIONS. Total cringefest, word f*** is used every 10 th word. Rubbishy. But my person likes it. undecided

Just finished watching an old episode of New Tricks, with the classic line-up in it. (Armstrong/Bolam/Redman/Waterman) wink

"Hand of God" is the name given to the famous goal Maradonna scored against England in 1986 which involved a bit of hand action...

Was it you or was it me? Or was it he or she?

NB: despite what my name may suggest, I was not born in 1972 tongue

I'm really enjoying watching Manhattan, on BT (AMC channel 332 on UK TV). Top quality drama but need to record it and fast forward through all the advert breaks.

Just finished watching Dr Terror's House Of Horrors, from 1965.

Another film I used to love back in the seventies. smiley
