Seems I may have jumped the gun a bit, for apparently (I didn't know this) the opening line of the song is a sample from a film, "Night of the demon".

In that case it seems the episode theme was classic horror films. Someone pointed out that one victim being attacked & dismembered while swimming was a reference to “Jaws”, so that’s 3 of them with “Jurassic Park” & now “Night of the Demon”.

Recorded it, so will probably watch it next weekend, time permitting.

Oops, sorry about all the spoilers! laugh

Fred Thursday is, presumably, a nod to the character Joe Friday in Dragnet, both the TV show and the Dan Ackroyd/Tom Hanks film.

I never saw “Dragnet”, but in the final scene of this one when Morse & Thursday in his trilby hat walk away from the hospital ward door, they sure do look like Tom Hanks & Dan Akroyd in those 1980s promo photos for it!

I don't know if I'll check that out... I really don't like either of those two main actors. Also--curmudgeonly old fogey alert--the first promo I saw for that show ended with whatshisname saying, "What's the point of having F*ck You Money if you can't say 'F*ck You?'"

You know me... if you can't get me to watch a show without yer old potty-mouth, you probably shouldn't bother. wink

Yep, its a swearing show. I wouldn't watch it on my own, but my person loves stock market stuff and it also has a dominatrix in it. undecided We will see,

Nah... film five comes out next year. tongue

It was actually a lot better than I expected, now my second favourite after the first one. Films two and three though, I'm not fond of.

And thus, my journey into the world of Star Wars finally begins... smiley

And you might be thinking, "Why start with this one?" Well, I want to experience the full story, the entire saga right from the very beginning, instead of watching the original trilogy first. It just feels like the right way for a new Star Wars fan. If I watched the original trilogy first and enjoyed them all (as I hope to), I'd definitely want to give the prequels a try too. Thus, I may as well watch the movies in episode order rather than release order.

Just finished watching:

Spock's Beard - the X tour.

Been a while since I watched this, and it's just as good as I remember it.

I think I prefer episode I to episode II, but there are some pretty bad aspects of I. Sadly both the lines and the acting of Anakin in episode II end up ruining the film for me.
