For some reason, my Mum's idea of a "good taste in music" is basically liking every cheesy hit played on the radio... undecided

Sorry Mum, but songs like Culture Club's "Karma Chameleon", Soft Cell's "Tainted Love" or George Michael's "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" cannot be considered songs that show off a good taste in music. rolleyes

I disagree about that one. Believe me, if you were a teenager at the time it came out (which your mum may have been) that is an absolutely iconic song, & you canít appreciate now just how stand-out odd Marc Almond was at the time.

I agree. I too enjoy some cheesy 80s music. I don't think the music is as good so much as it reminds me of a fun or happy time in my life.

Exactly.....'Tainted Love' was a staple of my university hall of residence Sunday night discos, along with 'The Love Cats', 'Blue Monday'....in fact, thinking about it, they might only have had three records.

But songs like 'Come on Eileen', 'Don't you want me', 'Relax' were all massive hits at the time and bring back happy memories of a time where life was full of possibilities and I didn't spend 60 hours a week at work.....

I feel like crap after that show last night, my back aches, my mind feel groggy and worst if all my ears are ringing like they haven't since the RUSH concert a few years ago. undecided

Agreed. I have several Soft Cell singles from the time, Bedsitter, Say Hello Wave Goodbye, Torch, (with an excellent version of the Bond theme You Only Live Twice as b-side). Some of his solo singles were good too.

Aw, you know what I have to do now!

Marc Almond always very creepy looking. I saw a clip of him on BBC breakfast last summer, lots of Botox.
