It will only end unwell if people become uncivil to each other.

I'm very much in support of free speech, and that includes the expressing of opinions I don't share.

I think we all have the capacity to stroll through any mine field, as long as opposing views are expressed respectfully.

I can control someone's emotions in this!.. I have been around this forum for a long time and feel sad how we cannot express ourselves as individuals!... I also feel sad how people judge people on this forum even though we apologize! Lets not live in the past and move on as to judge one character, it's not up to us to decide!.. wink smiley

I get a strong feeling of guilt here and it's hurting me inside as I don't intend to hurt anyone!... sad

Yes, I fully support free speech. And I have no doubt that someone will pop on here and rail against what they call "political correctness". However there is an age-old adage about being able to discuss anything at all... except sex, politics and religion. smiley

In the USA right now we're going through a major same-sex marriage debate. The issue is currently before the Supreme Court. I can support the views of others, but this is one fraught with sensitivity, perhaps because it involves sex AND politics AND religion.

A gentleman named Santorum--who came very close to being the Republican nominee for President last year--famously said that he sees no difference between homosexuality, bestiality or pedophilia. Personally, I find that comment ignorant and hateful. He exercised his free speech in saying this. I am exercising MY free speech by saying Santorum is a monstrously vile piece of shit.

I agree with Witchwood that the vast majority of us here can remain civil and respectful. In light of recent Forum kerfuffles, all I'm doing is recommending extreme caution. cool

I respect your wishes Dust! wink smiley

My wishes are too to respect others here and not to use the word strike! as others have and support each other and sometimes, we can get out of control!!...

Let's be supportive of others feeling's! Not our own!! smiley

Sometimes I think I must live in a bubble or something.

I can't understand why anybody would be against same sex marriage, I really can't. The fact that so much energy is put into preventing it and why people get so upset is beyond me.

Not just yours Paloma. I share the same philosophy. My thinking is as long as a person isn't hurting anyone, they should do what makes them happy.

I like this band, others like that band. I like women, some men like men. What's the big deal?

Yes, it is like this saying that says 'my freedom ends where your freedom begins', isn't it?

About the discussion, I think that, so far, it's being very polite.

No need of guilty, I made a question and you gave your opinion.

I don't share it, but your answer was polite, it is your opinion and despite I disagree I respect it.

I think this is taking randomness in new and strange directions!

This is an April fool, right? I mean, there isn't really an aardvark that's gone quantity surveying?

You see my suspicions were aroused as it's a bank holiday, and I assume no self-respecting aardvark would be working on a bank holiday.

The Radiohead song Backdrifts is difficult to listen to with earphones thanks to this weird whooshing synth noise that keeps switching speakers back and forth in an annoying fashion. undecided
