When I was in Turks and Caicos, I met a posh British woman who was working over there. When I told her my niece lived in basingstoke she screwed up her nose and said 'Oh Dear' I was pissed off, but then I realized that I haven't really seen much of the place apart from my nieces house and the place she got married, but it looked lovely to me.

Is Basingstoke considered a dump in the UK?

Dump or not, the screwed-up-nose-Oh-Dear woman was rude. angry

I've been to Basingstoke and it's a cool place. It also has a surprisingly modern skyline for a UK town.

Perhaps that posh woman hates Basingstoke because of this. It's a UK town designed to look high-tech and big-business. Many would mistake it for a city (and it should be considered one IMHO). She may be one of those people who believes that the UK should have no tall buildings at all and just historical buildings. I thoroughly disagree; I love tall buildings. I like historical buildings too of course, but big buildings and skyscrapers look cool to me. cool

Right now I'm updating iTunes to version 12.2. The last few versions, especially the nightmare that was iTunes 11, have been pretty bad. These updates made it slower, removed useful features, made sorting songs/albums less intuitive, etc. and all of this has made me steadily lose interest in my iTunes library and only use it to sync music. I hope 12.2 at least fixes something.

Well, so much for that. Half way through updating I checked out Google to see what the iTunes update adds. Turns out that iTunes 12.2 sucks. Here's why:

Cancelled the update.

Due to the new apple streaming service the App Store has broken down. I am unable to update iTunes, because the App Store is unavailable for me since two days.

Goodness. I don`t even want it. I just want to have my software updated.

Some very sad news... my Great Aunt Ida, who lived in Lubbock, Texas, passed away yesterday at the age of 96. She was my Grandma's older sister. I hoped one day to come and meet her, because I had just one telephone call with her when I was 10 years old, and she hoped one day that I would be able to visit. Sadly, now I never will be able to. R.I.P. Ida. cry

Sympathy from here. Still, on the plus side, you DID get to speak to her, and 96 is a ripe old age.

Please accept my condolences, NSOV. When family is spread out all over the globe, it's not easy to travel to see them. We have the same situation in our family.
