At Ruislip social club last night, the guest ale was called "Chip 'n' Chase". Given the England rugby team's win against France earlier in the day, it was the perfect choice. smiley

I'm going to join NoSon with a random album ranking of my own: Keane - Perfect Symmetry

  1. Playing Along
  2. You Don't See Me
  3. The Lovers Are Losing
  4. Love Is The End
  5. Perfect Symmetry
  6. Pretend That You're Alone
  7. Again and Again
  8. Black Burning Heart
  9. Better Than This
  10. Spiralling
  11. You Haven't Told Me Anything

The top 2 here are as good as many a Genesis song in my book! The others are just quite good.

No matter how many times I listen to Newton Faulkner's Rebuilt By Humans album, I'm left speechless. Albums as perfectly consistent as that are supremely rare. It's an album where absolutely every chord, lyric and moment matters. I've decided to stop putting my all-time favourite albums in lists because now I have far too many favourites to rank them fairly, but I'll just say this - Rebuilt By Humans is, in my honest opinion of course, sheer godlike bliss that no future release by any artist will ever top. Almost everything I adore so much about music is represented on it.

I've decided I'm going to re-delete Misunderstanding and Please Don't Ask from the album Duke on my iTunes. One day I decided to add them back to the album, but after listening it today, I wished I had never done so. Misunderstanding kills the epic beauty built up with Man Of Our Times, and Please Don't Ask does the same for Cul-De-Sac (though to a lesser extent). I know it may be controversial to remove songs from the listening experience, but to me, without these two songs buggering it up Duke goes from being a very good album to an excellent album. So why leave them on there if I'm just going to skip them each and every time?
