It's the birthday of someone in the office, so as is traditional, they brought in cakes.

Normally cookies (or anything on special offer in the supermarket) is provided but today the birthday boy brought in Battenberg cake.

I haven't seen Battenberg cake for years and to be honest I didn't know anyone was still making it!

There were more replies to the pancake thread than there were to the Valentines thread. Does this mean that pancakes are more important than love to forum members? grin

Being the old romantic softy that I am, I prefer to think that on the 14th, everyone had an evening of 'lurve' and were too busy engaged in romantically staring into their partner's eyes over a candlelit dinner, than logging onto the forum.

(Me, I went to my usual Thursday night exercise class!).

Some BBC journalists are on a 24 hour strike. Hence BBC Breakfast is being fronted by some non-entity behind a desk and the screen features a BBC News channel style ticker at the bottom. There is no sign of Bill, Susanna, Charlie nor Louise. Pah, rubbish!
