I'm back into album-buying mode again. University is almost over - less than a week to go and I won't be a student anymore! shocked So, I've got a lot of student loan money left over to spend however I wish. I won't go too mad, and I'll make sure to use Amazon because it's always cheap. smiley

I went into the men's room of an office building this morning to find two guys in overalls--an older man and a younger, unkempt-looking fellow--standing by the urinals, a puddle of water on the floor. I said "Anything working?" and the older man said "Yup." I pointed toward the stall and said, "That one?" and he replied, "Yup."

As I was doing my business I heard the younger one whisper, "Dumb-ass."

I was tempted to say, "I'm not the one fixing toilets for a living," but I simply washed my hands, smiled, and walked out with a "Have a nice day."

Fixing toilets is a noble profession, what would we do without people who fixed toilets! Guy was just a jerk.

That's why I didn't say anything. Although I've had two other bad experiences in the past few weeks with guys who fix toilets, I know there are good ones out there. smiley

You fell off the pedestal I put you on when you made that comment Dusty, like you think your profession is superior.

If I had to choose, I would be a plumber before anything that dealt with numbers, I swear if my person and I ever break up, I will never have anything to do with investments and stock brokers again.

Edit: Well I suppose I would have to, but it would be absolute minimum. And I would NEVER listen to Jim Cramer!! shocked

No, I think a person simply asking where he should pee is superior to a man in overalls calling him "Dumbass" while standing in a pool of urine.

As for plumbers, one came to my own office two days ago to diagnose why our toilet had a slight hissing sound, though it was otherwise functioning properly. He took the inner assembly apart (it was a newfangled flushing mechanism) and couldn't put it back together, nor could he fix the hiss. When I asked him to simply put it back the way it was and I'd pay him for his time, he said I had two choices... pay $200 to get the parts to fix what he had done or $550 for a new toilet.

Second plumber was hired by my wife two years ago to fix the leak in our downstairs toilet. He fixes it, three months later it leaks again and he fixes it again. Etc., etc., etc.

Yeah, as far as people who are utterly inept and useless at their professions, and/or deliberately try to rip me off... the plumbers I've met recently will not be getting a Christmas Card from me. If you know a good one, send him my way. Even if he smells. wink

And if the thought I had to respond to this guy's "Dumbass" comment--a thought that momentarily ocurred to me while peeing, mind you--has knocked me off your pedestal, I shouldn't have been up there to begin with. tongue However, I'll do my darndest to try to climb back up. kiss

According to Wikipedia, a British composer named Antony Hopkins died recently at age 93. For a brief moment, I thought the website was referring to a British (Welsh) actor named Anthony Hopkins. It's fascinating how two people can have the same unusual name. I mean, there are without a doubt thousands of people around the world named Jack Smith or Emily Williams, but Anthony Hopkins is certainly a far less common name.

Actually, the actor's birth name is Philip Anthony Hopkins. Not taking a dig at you, but I don't consider there being a different famous person named Antony Hopkins to be unusual at all. tongue

Now if the composer dined on liver with fava beans and a nice chianti... that would be different! cheesy
