Sorry Dusty, but from my perspective, I always feel very appreciative if someone prepares a meal for me, no matter how simple or complicated, no matter the amount of effort put into it, no matter if it was delicious or barely edible. I don't look at it as a matter of scoring or losing points. And I certainly couldn't imagine being outwardly critical about it.

I can understand why you would be disappointed by not having the traditional pasta with the meal, and I suppose that the familiarity between you and your wife would make it easier for you to express your disappointment. But I think that with all the imperfectness that life tends to throw at us, this is one of those things that barely registers on the bummer scale.

But hey, that's just me. cool

Since you put it that way, you're right. smiley As my bummer list includes my assistant being out of work this week, losing my fantasy football game, my car making a funny noise when I hit 40 mph, a hole in my left slipper, the price of the Sting & Paul Simon tickets, and my poor puppy injuring her leg (not necessarily in that order), this one is quickly dismissed.

The newest forum member is called "EntangledInTheCage". I think that this is a great name combining, as it does, the titles of 2 great Genesis tracks. It would, however, be nice if he/she were to post a message or two. smiley

Had a taste for a martini this evening, so I decided to pick up a bottle of gin on the way home from my daily travels. I picked up something new to me; I like trying something different once in a while. My experience with gin leads me to believe that most, and inevitably the best, are produced in the British Isles. When I got home I took a closer look at the label and discovered that this particular brand was manufactured at a distiller located about 15 minutes from where I live.

Very surprising, somewhat strange, and quite amusing. cheesy

For purists, if it has vodka, it's not a martini.

"Vodka martinis" became popularized in the wake of the James Bond movies, and have since been transformed into various forms of fruity cocktails.

A traditional martini is made from gin, dry vermouth, and very little else.

Maybe you should pop by there and ask if they'll sell to you directly. wink Cut out that middleman.

Is it a holiday there? Here in the US, tomorrow is Veterans Day, which is to honor all those who served... whereas Memorial Day in May is specifically to remember those who gave their lives.
