I love Slippers, I wear them all year round and have many pairs in different colours. Marks and Sparks have the best slippers, I pick some up every time I go home.

I also collect hotel room slippers for when guests come to stay, and I gauge the quality of a hotel room on the quality of the slipper. (Wynn Towers wins so far) grin

I don't remember getting slippers when I stayed at the Wynn. angry

I generally only wear slippers in the morning when I get up or late at night before bed. I wear them outside to walk the dog--sometimes in the rain and snow--so they get pretty beat up. A $15 pair from Target will do fine. smiley

How about bath robes? The most comfortable hotel one ever for me was at The Fairmont in San Francisco.

We need a hotel amenities thread! grin

As usual, I didn't want to disappoint.

Ohh I've never looked for slippers in Target, will check once I get to FL.

The Wynn Towers slippers are brown for men and white for women and very plush for hotel room slippers. I get the brown anyway as I have big feet. They seem to assume all women have feet under a size 8. I love the way they sit them at the foot of bed just below where they drape the robes at nighttime, I LOVE that hotel. Although the last time the towers were full, the regular hotel is nice too, but I don't think they had the slippers unless you asked for them. Which if course, I did!

I love discussing hotel amenities! I love nice hotels.

Ciragan Palace Kempinski Istanbul and Wynn Towers are my two favourites I've ever stayed. ALthough the King David in Jerusalem and the Four Seasons Park Lane were cool, they both had TV's as part of the mirror in the bathroom. cool

You'd love The Fairmont SF then. It has everything, including the famous Tonga Room where Tony Bennett first sang " I Left My Heart In San Francisco."

It was one of the first hotels in the US to have a woman architect, and it withstood the great fire in the early 1900's. Lots of cool hallways with old pics, menus, paintings etc. It was the setting for the James Brolin TV series "Hotel", and if you're into history, as well as luxury, you'd love it. Old school yet all the modern amenities too. It sits atop Nob Hill and is one of the only spots in the city where the three cable car lines pass.

We stayed in a Tower Suite with spectacular views of the bay,Wharf, Alcatraz, and the Golden Gate Bridge on one side and Oakland/Berkeley and the Bay Bridge on the other. I loved how the suites were named, and not numbered. I got a kick out of that. wink

Oh it sounds lovely, some of the Fairmont hotels are so nice. In SF we usually stay with my Person's daughter, but one time we stayed at the Mandarin Oriental, it was ok. No memory of the robe and slippers so it can't have been that good. grin

It absolutely was. The only negative is it has spoiled me for staying anywhere else or in any other type of room when I get to San Francisco again. wink

I would definitively recommend you checking it out sometime when you're there if you're not staying with your person's daughter.

We also had brunch one of the days right across the street at The Top Of The Mark. Delicious, and it also had some spectacular 360' views.

I guess you can tell I loved my time in San Francisco and can't wait to go back. grin

Actually D&O, mens slippers are just as bad in a way. There is usually only one pair which means they get smelly.lipsrsealed

So I guess yes I would still have loved THE LAMB. grin

Helpful Tip: If one collects hotel slippers then one can give main slippers a break and avoid super smelliness.

San Fran is an amazing city, I hope to spend more time there myself. Too bad it's a 6 hour flight, but at least we have direct from Toronto now, unfortunately still no direct from Miami so it's an even longer trip from there.

I've only been to San Fran once, but I loved it and want to go back. Just one visit placed it in my list of favorite US cities, along with New York, Boston, and New Orleans.
