Well it wasn't a case of making any effort! In fact it would have been no effort at all considering I was in Ryde that very day. It was a case of "it's not all about me" as I was in the company of seven others who are not particularly music fans, let alone Genesis fans. We wanted to squeeze in as much as we could considering it was a long weekend break and we wanted to have a good laugh and socialise while we were together so we did! You can't exactly talk while watching a rock gig, can you!

We have a brand new bridge over the Elbe in Dresden. It was open for the public for the first time today. Tomorrow it will be opened for traffic. My wife and me took the chance to walk over it together with zillions of other Dresdeners. It was lovely. Had a nice garlic bread, too.

There's a teenager nextdoor learning how to play the bass guitar. I can hear him trying (and failing) to play the opening to Deep Purple's Smoke On The Water, and I can sense the heavy vibrations coming from the instrument. He needs to turn his amplifier down.

I was annoyed when I drew the eleventh pick in one of my fantasy football leagues, but I took Megatron for pretty good value in the first round and then Brees in the second, which is nice because the league awards six points per passing touchdown. I was nervous, of course, not having any running backs, but I then snagged Reggie and Run-DMC in the third and fourth rounds, so I think I might be okay. Hoping Daryl Richardson is still available when it gets back to me.

cool
