I think we had something similar to this before. Post anything at all here, albeit sticking to forum rules as we don't want warning PM's and a locked thread. wink I'll start with:

I think that "Opal Fruits" was a great name for the chewy fruit sweets. On the other hand, I think that the replacement name "Starburst" is rubbish.

P.S. As the thread name implies, any reply shouldn't generally have anything to do with the previous message. wink

Nevertheless.

In Germany we used to have a choccy bar called "Raider". As the word raider has a certain meaning in the English language, the name was changed into "Twix". I miss my Raider bars and refuse to twix.

I am slightly alarmed to finish a cup of coffee made at work, and note the rather large quantity of limescale left in the bottom of the cup.

If that's what's left in the cup, what have I drunk??

I understand that perfectly well. A name is a name and not supposed to be changed. I say Genesis and not Exodus.

Last week I got a train from Cambridge to London King's Cross. The train got in at Platform 9. There were two rail tracks in between this platform and Platform 10 - hence there was no "barrier" between the two platforms.

I felt rather saddened by this.

Was it you or was it me? Or was it he or she?

NB: despite what my name may suggest, I was not born in 1972 tongue

Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other "plans."

Where have I heard this before?

Hard to believe John Lennon has been gone for 32 years

sad

I think of Harry Potter. Somebody got tired of fractional arithmetic.

Watching Sarah Millican on TV, I was struck by how similar she seems to Mrs Merton, the spoof chat show host creation of Caroline Aherne.

(Sorry for non-UK readers who probably don't have a clue what I'm talking about).

If I didn't know better, I'd think that comment was posted by SisterMoon. wink
