I'd be interested in your view of this one Dusty. I have very mixed feelings on it...

I do too. Tough to say... I'll probably watch it again in several months when it shows up on HBO or Showtime.

I was entertained while watching it, though a few parts dragged. I thought it was a well-done mixture of space adventure and science and metaphysics, and I admit that I didn't completely buy the ending. The bottom line is that while I enjoyed most of the parts, and it wasn't nearly as maddeningly pretentious as some other "intellectual," artsy-fartsy sci-fi I've seen (have you seen The Fountain or Melancholia?) the film didn't gel for me as a whole. I'll give it three-out-of-five-stars.

I thought the whole premise was great. The storyline was excellent, and for the most part, the execution was great. I just thought the ending left me flat. It could have been a whole lot better. Most of the characters were well developed-given the length of the movie well they should be. But then some were so one dimensional they were almost comical-Matt Damon especially.
Overall it was a great concept that could have been done so much better but ultimately failed to deliver....

Kill The Messenger is pretty good. About a reporter called Gary Webb who tries to expose CIA importing drugs to America for funds to supply arms to Nicaraguan rebels. Based on a true story, apparently
