The premise of the movie is fascinating: That the earth could actually fight back after all that we've done to destroy it; or that our enemies would actually create chemical warfare against all nations.

The worst part of the movie is that some of the things that happened just wouldn't. And why were the people not wearing something over their faces to protect themselves. The idea that the chemical/bacteria would erase our will to live is a pretty original concept.

I agree it's not the best movie, but some of the premises and ideas were pretty creative.

The most recent film I saw was Belle. A fair period drama about a half caste woman living among a white family in a post-slavery era, but whenever the slaves in chains, who drowned when thrown off the ship, were mentioned I couldn't stop hearing the Beatles' 'Chains' in my head!

And then when I came home I heard that Gerry Goffin, co-writer of that song, had died.

OK I went.

So-so chick flick. Adam Levine's acting is somewhat painful.

Our 20 year old son, Tom shares my love of cinema and bought tickets for us to see Boyhood, for my birthday present. We saw it last night and it's one of the finest films that I've ever seen; a glorious, emotional, life-affirming film.

At almost two and three quarter hours, some might consider it too long...the opposite was true; we were engrossed and the director's skill and the great acting made you care for not only the boy, who is filmed over 12 years, as he grows to be an adult, but his mother, father and sister too.

This film should receive countless awards and be seen by large audiences; unfortunately, there were less than 20 in the audience sad

Hopefully that small audience number will improve when word gets out. I'll let you know how I like it after the weekend.
