I loved THE BUTLER. I'm not sure how else they could have told it without making a seven hour movie. grin

(Maybe a mini series would have been good! There sure was enough material)

Yes, the thing is the story is long, it runs throughout many years while very important events take place, so it is very difficult, imho, to condense everything in just 2 hours.

Mind you, yesterday I was reading reviews about this film and I found very good reviews but also very bad ones huh. They commented that the 3D effects are, as you say, breathtaking and amazing to see, but the story is quite weak and some of the issues that Sandra Bullock has to sort out (I have no idea as I haven't seen the film and I am not an expert in travelling out of the earth grin) are impossible to believe.

Anyway if it is a good entertainment it is good, isn't it? that is what films are for!

Great fun, much better than the first installment. But why oh why did the dwarf/dragon scene go on for so long... huh undecided

At least the music was much less confused this time.

Another fun film. Very OTT violence towards the end but I'm guessing that's the charm with these Tarantino films cheesy

Great movie. I was very pleased. Although I agree with Merryman 72, that the dragon scene in Erebor was a bit longish. Smaug is a very smart character, though. I really wonder, how the third part will be. Part two is ending very shortly before the story in the book ends. How will they fill another 3 hour movie? Probably with a lot of stuff dealing with the resurrection of Sauron.

We shall see....

So how was American Hustle?

It's on my 'to go to' list.

It took a while to get going, and it was twenty minutes too long, but I liked it. The actors were all great, and parts of it were very funny, other parts twisty and surprising. And I'm an Amy Adams fan. smiley
